Successful Valithria Dreamwalker wow gold
If a wipe happens that can be attributed to DPS, it's usually smjkhgfs because someone in the raid -- often multiple someones -- put in that C-minus effort to survive because they're putting in an A-plus effort to cause damage. They take needless damage and die needless deaths. They eat up a battle res. They eat up healers' attention. Maximizing your damage calls for taking risks. The sooner you AoE a mob, the more damage on them will be yours, boosting your DPS number (and aggro). Standing in Lady Deathwhisper's Death and Decay until your Mind Blast finishes casting gives you better numbers than if you interrupt casting to move. Switching from the Volatile Ooze to refresh Shadow Word: Pain on Professor Putricide is a net DPS increase. Single targeting Sindragosa while your raid members are trapped in ice blocks or pushing the very limits of the Instability debuff will give you better numbers. And heck, why pay attention to who you're supposed to bite next during your Blood-Queen Lana'thel encounter if you can still rock out those double-damage sized numbers? In a lot of cases, maxing out your DPS is a selfish endeavor that helps you more than your raid. You're doing more DPS at the expense of your own and others' survivability. Raw DPS numbers seldom tell the tale -- you can pat yourself on the back all you'd like for rocking 12000 DPS on The Lich King, but if you're dying one minute into the fight, you were essentially useless during the encounter. That sounds a little too obvious, but don't think there aren't raid leaders out there who won't favor a mage who does 9000 DPS (and dies early 20% of the time) over a shadow priest who does 8000 DPS (and never dies early). Looking at that scoreboard is too tempting. Shape up or ship out, kids -- we've got content to clear. We're not talking about booting that moonkin who is only pulling 2500DPS on a fight where everyone else is pulling double or better (seriously dude, you do need to shape up), we're talking about pressuring people to wring 2% more DPS out of what they're currently doing. In the grand scheme of things, the numerical value of your DPS shouldn't matter more than the question of whether the things you're targeting are dying. Does it matter if you can do 10000 DPS on Lord Marrowgar? 25000 DPS on trash?
Blizzard quite clearly believes that players wow power leveling should not be skipping through heroic instance bosses to get to the wow gold last boss ... But do the players?
Qot: I'm wondering if there might be a role division on this topic. If you're DPS, you spent 15 minutes in the queue. Spending 10 extra minutes clearing trash and doing the optional bosses isn't awful and bumps up your badges/hour. If you're tank/heals, you spent a minute or less in the queue. In the 10 extra minutes on optionals, you could've finished this dungeon, gotten your two completion badges and be half way through a Nex or DTK random.
Gamer am I: It's sad that heroics have become so easy wow gold that people feel entitled to skip to the last boss. I think that's one of the new emblem system's failures: giving people raid-quality gear without giving them the content to use it in. As such, they get bored with heroics but don't run anything other than them, so they just want to get them over with quickly.
Docp: I think the problem is, is that people are being forced to do something they don't like wow gold in order to achieve in another aspect of the game. I think giving Frost as an incentive was a mistake; it should have just been two extra Triumphs and left at that. This way, you'd only have people who actually want to run heroics going. I'd rather have longer queues than be forced to team with grumpy people who really don't want to be there.
uncaringbear: @Docp I think you have a legitimate point there. The original idea of rewarding Frost emblems in heroics was to give incentive to high-end players to wow gold participate in heroics and help newer/less-geared players progress through heroics and build up their emblems. Instead, what has happened is that heroics have now become a farming ground for the high-end players who have no desire at all to run them, except to get the two Frost emblems. Many players who genuinely need to run the heroics end up being abused and criticized by the raiders for wearing level-appropriate gear and making honest mistakes.
When you force people to play a part of the game that they don't want to play, this is bound to happen. And yes, these raiders can opt to not run heroics -- but for them, that is not a choice they would ever make for fear of falling behind in progression.
Here is a suggestion: Remove the Frost emblems from wow gold the random heroics. This will ensure that the people who run the heroics are the ones who really need to run them. As an alternative, make a series of daily quests that need to be completed that will reward a total of two Frost emblems. One of the quests can be a group quest. The people who want the Frost emblems can get it on their own time without making others miserable.
Are you a speed-runner, or do you like to savor your heroics? Do you think removing wow gold Frost emblems from the daily heroic would help alleviate the teeth-grinding, "let's get this over with" attitude of some players?
Not saying it's not cool if you can see giant numbers. But consider that a solid number of successful Valithria Dreamwalker encounters see DPS putting in a mere 4k DPS or less. We shadow priests have quite the gift -- our spec is near unparalleled in our ability to last through even stupid damage. Unfortunately, that can lead to us getting pretty lax when it comes to putting in effort to avoid damage. I'll admit that I've messed up more than a few times because I was too focused on my DPS, and not nearly focused enough on, say, not being directly in front of Sindragosa's ugly maw. We can't let laziness get the best of us, especially when we have no control over how well -- or poorly -- the other 4, 9, or 24 people in our groups are playing. Sure, we can and do phone it in on heroics now and then -- your modern day shadow priest in ICC gear is so overpowered that the special mechanics of Wrath heroics are entirely trivialized. (When's the last time you saw anyone run out for Loken's Lightning Nova? Do people even remember that's supposed to be a part of the fight?) But raid content -- especially new raid content -- is different. These mechanics are key to the fight, and your first priority is always to master those mechanics so you can stay alive. DPS comes second every time.
